How do I hire an app developer?
Start with what you want the app to do, in plain words, before you talk to anyone. Then look at live software the developer has shipped, not mockups. Ask who exactly will write your code and how often you will see progress. For mobile apps, ask whether they build for both iOS and Android and who handles the app store side. If the answers are vague, keep looking.
How do I choose the right app development agency?
Three checks do most of the work. First, live products: click things they have built and see if they still run well. Second, team size and seniority: know who actually does the work, and whether juniors learn on your project. Third, cadence: a good agency shows working software every week, not a big reveal at the end. Price matters, but a cheap project that never ships is the most expensive kind.

Keep it short. Describe the problem, who has it, and what should be different when the app exists. List the tools it must connect to. Say what you can spend, even roughly.
